He began his career reporting on metro issues for New York Newsday\, then shifted to international reporting\, contributing to numerous publications. From 2010-21\, he co-authored the “Fixes” column in The New York Times\, which examined efforts to solve social and environmental problems. He is the author of: “How to Change the World: Social Entrepreneurs and the Power of New Ideas\,” which has been published in 25 languages\, “The Price of a Dream: The Story of the Grameen Bank\,” and “Social Entrepreneurship: What Everyone Needs to Know.” \nThis speaker event is part of the Solutions Journalism Collaborative Summit\, hosted by the New York & Michigan Solutions Journalism Collaborative\, the Southwest Michigan Journalism Collaborative and Detroit Public TV.
